Marriage & Family TherapistBefore you say something, ask yourself 2 questions: "Is it true?" and "Is it kind?" Speaking to your partner isn't just about sharing the truth—it's also about speaking with kindness and gentleness. You have to think about how the person may perceive it. How sensitive are they? What are their weaknesses? Are they willing to listen? If you're able to answer "yes" to the "Is it true?" and "Is it kind?" questions, go ahead and say what you want to say.
