Vore bra om du kunde ge ett förhandsbesked om hur du ställer dig till en ansökan om Wikimediabidrag för firande av ett eventuellt passerande av 2 miljonergränsens (läs Wikipediadiskussion:2M#Ska vi fira 2 miljonergränsens passerande med en "2-miljonerstårta"?). - Jag hoppas att WMSE prioriterar mer långsiktiga projekt - exempelvis kunna låna ut utrusting, bidra med reskostner, utbildning, etc - som förbättrar uppslagsverket på sikt än milstolpar som passeras och sedan förpassas till historiken. Ett problem är ju också att alla aktiva som bidragit är geografiskt mycket spridda. Alternativet är ju att Lsjbot och Nasko.bot får en tårta. - Det är väldigt svårt att ge ett förhandsbesked med så lite fakta att ta ställning till. Nu har det inte kommit upp en sida för 2015, men det kommer med största sannolikhet, precis som 2014, gå att söka minibidrag. - Tack för detta beskedet! Min erfarenhet ifrån detta området säger mig att chansen är stor för ett positivt uppmärksammande i massmedia i samband med ett firande av 2-miljonergränsens passerande med en "2-miljonerstårta". Därmed kan en sådan liten insats i form av ett litet bidrag skapa mycket positiva återverkningar för föreningen och projektet. Många mer personer blir nyfikna på Wikipedia och Wikimedia och i förlängningen förhoppningsvis genererar det mycket fler deltagare i projekt och förening.
- Med ännu fler deltagare i projekt och förening borde detta ha en gynnsam effekt på ökat användarbidrag till artikelskrivande och -förbättringar. En ökad grad av fri kunskap borde därmed bli resultatet.
- Att annonsera i massmedia för att få fler deltagare i projekt och förening är förenat med mycket stora kostnader. Det vore verkligen synd att missa ett sådant massmedialt tillfälle som passerande av 2-miljonersgränsen till uppmärksamhet av ett projekt som gynnar fri kunskap. --Allexim (diskussion) 31 januari 2015 kl. 15.44 (CET)

Om sökning och commons redigera
Jag undrar hur man får commons och sökning att fungera. Min artikel om Brynolf Wennerberg är baserad på den tyska artikeln (enl överenskommelse m författaren på tyska sidan) och där finns det commons som jag har länkat till. Men den fungerar inte). Det fungerar inte heller att söka på Wennerberg, fast jag tror att jag har gjort rätt på standardsorteringen. Hej Ainali! Jag har nu utfört uppdraget "Lägg till Templatedata till valfri infobox-liknande mall som inte har det idag. Jag gjorde det med koder, men det var både besvärligt och tog lång tid, så därför undrar jag hur den nya editorn som du nämnde fungerar och var den finns.

Du kan kryssa i "Om en sida har koordinater, lägg till en knapp i samma meny som "Visa historik" som visar artiklar för geografiskt närliggande platser." under rubriken "Extrafunktioner" på Special:Inställningar#mw-prefsection-gadgets.

Detta skulle kunna användas till när man bygger skyltar vid en vägs beskrivning och hur vägen där är skyltad, hade varit snyggt eller vad säger du? A proposal to centralize VisualEditor feedback on www.mediawiki.org redigera
Hello! On behalf of the Community Liaisons, I would like to thank you for your constant efforts on this wiki's feedback page for VisualEditor. I'm writing to inform you of a plan to redirect local pages for VisualEditor feedback to the board on mediawiki.org a few weeks from now. This applies to all the wikis where such pages are inactive or have low traffic, including the one on this Wikipedia. When this happens, editors will be free to use their own language to write on the mediawiki.org's page - although English is the most popular language there. Even feedback left from within VisualEditor with the built-in tool will be posted to the board on mediawiki.org.
Having all the feedback on a single, centralized place mainly means getting faster, more frequent replies and more attention from a higher number of people, including the people who are building the software. It also means chances are high, that editors will find that someone else has already written there about the issues or requests they wanted to post.
Maintaining a local page instead can be cumbersome: it needs to be checked frequently in case someone reports urgent issues. Old threads need to be archived from time to time. Off-topic comments should be removed to keep readability. Feedback left there is sometimes not easily understandable or actionable at all.
If at least one community member per wiki expressly commits to taking care of the local page, the redirect will not be necessary, although we need to establish a clear process with this person as soon as possible so that this person knows when to escalate issues to Phabricator or to Community Liaisons, and can receive useful tips based on our experience. As you may know, the Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees approved a new "Access to nonpublic information policy" on 25 april 2014 after a community consultation. The former policy has remained in place until the new policy could be implemented. That implementation work is now being done, and we are transitioning to the new policy.
An important part of that transition is helping volunteers like you sign the required confidentiality agreement. All Wikimedia volunteers with access to nonpublic information are required to sign this new agreement, and we have prepared some documentation to help you do so.
The Wikimedia Foundation is requiring that anyone with access to nonpublic information sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 december 2015 to retain their access. You are receiving this message because you have access to nonpublic information by way of the OTRS system and are required to sign the confidentiality agreement under the new policy. If you do not sign the new confidentiality agreement by 31 december 2015, you will lose your OTRS access.
Signing the confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information is conducted and tracked using Legalpad on Phabricator. We have prepared a guide on Meta-Wiki to help you create your Phabricator account and sign the new agreement: Confidentiality agreement for nonpublic information/How to sign
Even if you have signed the confidentiality agreement for functionaries (general agreement), you must also sign the OTRS agreement to retain your OTRS access.
