Pete Rademacher
American boxer (1928-2020)
Thomas Peter "Pete" Rademacher (November 20, 1928 – June 4, 2020) was an American heavyweight boxer. He was a gold medalist at the 1956 Olympics. He became the only person to challenge for the world heavyweight championship in his first professional game when he faced Floyd Patterson on August 22 1957.[1] He was born in Tieton, Washington.
Rademacher died on June 4, 2020 at a retirement home in Sandusky, Ohio from dementia-related problems, aged 91.[2]
