Jurga wis born intae a faimily o muisickers in Telšiai, whaur she spent her first bairnheid years. In her seicont schuil year she muivit tae Palanga, whaur she teuk piano lessons at the local muisic schuil an graduatit frae heich schuil. She studiet journalism at Vilnius University.

In 2002 she pairticipatit in the TV sangster contest Fizz Superstar. The same year she began tae perform unner the pseudonym Dingau wi girl-rock baund Muscat. In 2004 she played in the muisicals Ugnies medžioklė su varovais an Tadas Blinda.

In 2005 she began her solo career under the stage name Jurga. Her debut album, Aukso Pieva (Meadow of Gold), produced by Andrius Mamontovas, wis released on 16 September 2005. The first single, Nebijok (Daena Be Afraid) chairtit at nummer ane for aicht weeks an became the biggest hit single in Lithuanie o 2005.

The debut album includes twal sangs in Lithuanie an Inglis, amaist aw o thaim written bi Jurga hersel. Shortly efter this, Jurga receivit mony Lithuanie awairds.

In Julie, 2007, her sang, "5th Season", wan the Grand Prix o the Baltic Song Festival in Karlshamn, Swaden.[1] A few months later, on 1 November Jurga wan the MTV European Music Award for Best Baltic Act. Jurga wis the first Lithuanie tae win an MTV awaird.

On 28 August 2008, Jurga's son Adas wis born. On 26 August 2009, she marriet her boyfriend an faither o her son, Vidas Bareikis, vocalist o the baund Suicide DJs.
