പോളണ്ടിലെ ഹോളോകോസ്റ്റ്
പോളണ്ട് കീഴടക്കിയ നാസിജർമനി ജൂതപ്രശ്നത്തിനുള്ള അന്തിമപരിഹാരത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി (Endlösung der Judenfrage) നടത്തിയ കൂട്ടക്കൊലകളുടെ ഏറ്റവും മാരകവും അവസാനത്തേതുമായ കാലഘട്ടമായിരുന്നു അധിനിവേശപോളണ്ടിൽ നടന്ന ഹോളോകോസ്റ്റ്. (The Holocaust in German-occupied Poland. ഇതിനായി അധിനിവേശ പോളണ്ടിൽ ധരാളം കൂട്ടക്കൊലാകേന്ദ്രങ്ങൾ അവർ നിർമ്മിച്ചു. ഈ വംശഹത്യയ്ക്ക് ഔദ്യോഗികമായി അംഗീകാരം നൽകിയതും രണ്ടാം ലോകമഹായുദ്ധകാലത്തെ നാസി ജർമനിയാണ്. ഹോളോകോസ്റ്റ് എന്ന് അറിയപ്പെടുന്ന ഈ വംശഹത്യയിൽ 30 ലക്ഷം പോളണ്ടുകാരായ ജൂതന്മാരും അതുപോലെ ധാരാളം പോളണ്ടുകാരും ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നു.[6] വിജയകരമായ ഈ കൂട്ടക്കൊലാരീതിയിൽ പോളണ്ടിലെ ജൂത ജനസംഖ്യയുടെ 90 ശതമാനവും കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ടു.[7]

ജർമനിയുടെ ഭരണരംഗം മുഴുവൻ ഈ വംശഹത്യയ്ക്ക് കൂട്ടുനിന്നു. ആഭ്യന്തരമന്ത്രാലയം മുതൽ ധനകാര്യമന്ത്രാലയം വരെയും ജർമൻ വ്യവസായശാലകളും സർക്കാർ ഉടമസ്ഥതയിലുള്ള തീവണ്ടികളും എല്ലാം ഇതിനായി ഉപയോഗിച്ചു.[8][9] നാസി ജർമനിയിലെയും ജനറൽ ഗവണ്മെന്റിലെയും അധിനിവേശപോളണ്ടിലെയും മറ്റിടങ്ങളിലെയും കൂട്ടക്കൊലക്യാമ്പുകളും മൃതദേഹങ്ങൾ ദഹിപ്പിക്കാനുള്ള ചൂളകളും പണിയാൻ ജർമൻ കമ്പനികൾ ടെണ്ടറുകളിൽ പങ്കെടുത്തിരുന്നു.[7][10]
ജർമൻ അധിനിവേശകാലം മുഴുവൻ പോളണ്ടുകാരായ പല ക്രിസ്ത്യൻ കുടുംബങ്ങളും തങ്ങളുടെ തന്നെ ജീവൻ പണയം വച്ച് നാസികളിൽ നിന്നും പല ജൂതന്മാരെയും സംരക്ഷിച്ചിരുന്നു. ഏതൊരുരാജ്യക്കാരെയും വച്ച് പോളണ്ടുകാരാണ് ഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ ജൂതന്മാരെ ഹോളോകോസ്റ്റുകാലത്ത് നാസികളിലുടെ കയ്യിൽ നിന്നും രക്ഷിച്ചത്.[3][11] അതിനാൽത്തന്നെ പോളണ്ടുകാരാണ് ഇസ്രായേലിന്റെ ജൂതരെ രക്ഷിച്ചവരുടെ പട്ടികയിൽഏറ്റവും കൂടുതൽ ഉള്ളത്.[11] ചെറിയൊരു ശതമാനം പോളണ്ടുകാരായ ജൂതന്മാർ രണ്ടാം ലൊക്കമഹായുദ്ധകാലത്ത് ജർമൻ അധിനിവേശ പോളണ്ടിൽ നിന്നും കിഴക്കോട്ട് പലായനം ചെയ്ത് 1939 -ൽ റഷ്യ കീഴടക്കിയ പോളണ്ടിന്റെ ഭാഗങ്ങളിലേക്ക് രക്ഷപ്പെട്ടെങ്കിലും,[12] അവരെല്ലാം തന്നെ ജൂതരല്ലാത്ത പോളണ്ടുകാരോടൊപ്പം നിർബന്ധിതജോലിക്കായി സൈബീരിയയിലേക്ക് നാടുകടത്തപ്പെടുകയും അവിടെ കൊല്ലപ്പെട്ട പത്തുലക്ഷത്തോളം ആൾക്കാരിൽ പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു.[13][14]
