Geometry is the study of shapes and angles and can be challenging for many students. Many of the concepts are totally new and this can lead to anxiety about the subject.     Use this visual trick to understand the Pythagorean Theorem. Imagine a right triangle with squares constructed on each leg and the hypotenuse. By rearranging the smaller squares of the legs within the larger square of the hypotenuse, the areas of the smaller squares (a² and b²) will add up visually to the area of the larger square (c²).

    There are three different types of triangles: scalene, isosceles, and equilateral. A scalene triangle has no congruent (identical) sides and no congruent angles.
