Regulatory T cell or Treg for short are a type of T cell that regulates the immune system to prevent autoimmunity when an activated white blood cell overreacts or goes out of control regulatory t cells signals the aggressive immune cell to calm down and forces it to deactivate it thus keeping the healthy tissues safe from an autoimmune disease
