Hi, it regarding repeated addition of COPYVIO material by the same IP range here copied from Ancestry.com. Previously, it was revdeled by you here. I'd like to request page protection if possible. Thanks. - Fylindfotberserk (talk) 10:53, 22 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Fylindfotberserk revdel'd and IP range blocked for a week. Nthep (talk) 12:51, 22 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

I'm DrPlantGenomics, and write wikipages for women. I also am a single parent and working while raising my children, and write pages while volunteering, i.e. I don't have much free time. I had some pages get notified for copyright violations yesterday, despite my best interests. The process of having copyright violations was rather offputting as I dip in and out of wiki editing according to work and parenting. I was about to say 'if copyright violations are the result, people with more time can edit, and I'll nominate women in science for prizes', but given you removed the violations, I am less likely to reshift my volunteering away from wiki. Many thanks. You have restored my faith in the best way to uplift other people. Also, I don't know the appropriate way to comment on other people's talk pages, so I hope this works. Many thanks again.

Disruptive editor

edit

Hi Nthep. I was looking at this recent grave dancing and I think it may be from an IP editor you previously blocked at 148.252.128.0/20. I think the range may need to be expanded to 148.252.128.0/19. There may be some other IP ranges involved, but that's the only one that seems fairly clear to me. Could you please take a look? Thanks. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 01:47, 27 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Daniel Quinlan although there's a range overlap, it looks like a different person to the one I was aiming at and their disruptive editing around the BBC kids show Swashbuckle and associated articles. Nthep (talk) 13:42, 27 May 2024 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for taking a look. Given those topics, it sounds like a different disruptive editor. I think the editor you were dealing with is using the broader range, though. They appear to be present on 148.252.146.31, 148.252.141.48, and 148.252.140.135, for example. Daniel Quinlan (talk) 18:16, 27 May 2024 (UTC)Reply

Heads up

edit

I should be done with the Ruigeroeland CCI by the end of the year. I am going to RD1 all content published in Exotic Microlepidoptera 3 if it was published in 1930. All content from 1928 and earlier has been tagged as public domain. I will leave material from 1929 (starting page 481) alone for now in case I am somehow not done by the end of the year. Thanks for the info. Nthep (talk) 13:58, 11 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

hey a few gross edits on Loki season 2 were made, I believe they may be up for a revdel. cheers! Gaismagorm (talk) 20:23, 16 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

I didn't think it was worthy of revdel, but certainly a block and some page protection. Nthep (talk) 10:40, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
ah okay, thanks! Gaismagorm (talk) 12:30, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I saw that you deleted 7 revisions from this article [3] I believe the entire chain of edits from [1229334257] to 1229529357 should be revdeleted/suppressed aswell, as it was mass addition of obviously copyrighted content by the IP and reversion thereafter.

revisions to be deleted/suppressed

Declined revdel

edit

Hi there. I saw you declined the revdel request at Utpal Kumar Singh. I wanted to seek feedback for future reference. Seeing the copypatrol report, there’s quite a handful of highlighted text from that revision, which is why I requested a revdel of that revision. See iThenticate report where it highlights the portions and they’re a bit significant, if my iThenticate link doesn’t work, you could just click on iThenticate from the copypatrol report. Looking forward to hearing from you. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 16:04, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

@Vanderwaalforces I can't access the pdf to compare (a 503 service unavailable error) and you hadn't removed any offending text from the article so I've got nothing to make a judgement against. If you remove the offending text, then I'll look again. Nthep (talk) 16:59, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
The article was fixed already, by the creator. Yes, I couldn’t directly access the pdf but was able to via iThenticate. Anyway, maybe this isn’t necessary. Thank you for being a great admin :) Vanderwaalforces (talk) 17:12, 17 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Vanderwaalforces: Compare User talk:Deb#Utpal Kumar Singh on Deb's talk page. I'm not sure about the intentions of the creator, but this looks like unfinished business to me. Renerpho (talk) 00:25, 22 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Renerpho Yeah, I am actually aware of that thread on Deb’s talk page and agree to an extent that this looks like an unfinished business. But since the admin declined the request, I respect that as they should know better. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 04:42, 22 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Renerpho @Vanderwaalforces I declined the RD because a) I couldn't see the source to compare with, b) I couldn't tell if or what offending material had been removed, and c) which revisions need to be RD. Now if the creator is saying "whoops I included some copyright-violating stuff" then a) isn't that big a deal anymore, but me or any other admin still needs to know which revisions need to RD. I just need someone to say it was added in revision X and removed in revision Y and it can be sorted in no time. Nthep (talk) 06:25, 22 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Nthep, I just realized that I didn’t add the revision that needs to be revdel in my original request, please see Special:Diff/1229369845. Vanderwaalforces (talk) 08:57, 22 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi. Just to say that the current version is well below standard. I don't know what User:Aviram7 was thinking of when he moved it out of draft. But at the moment I'm in holiday mood so I'm not going to be tackling the problem. Deb (talk) 07:24, 22 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I don't think my writings were WP:CV compliant, but I was did not actually add copyvio material to my article.Happy editing --- ᗩvírαm7(@píng mє-tαlk mє) 13:01, 22 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
