What about of George Alexander Macfarren's Helvellyn (1864)

edit

I am sure that Macfarren's Helvellyn is one of the most famous English operas of the 19th century. 176.32.19.44 (talk) 20:31, 14 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

What about it? Do you have a question or proposal? -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 00:56, 15 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Yes! Look at https://operastory.co.uk/helvellyn-by-george-alexander-macfarren/ 176.32.19.44 (talk) 12:22, 15 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
So, we can add Macfarren's Helvellyn at the List of prominent operas? 176.32.19.44 (talk) 12:29, 15 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
The article you linked clearly points out that it's not a prominent opera. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 12:42, 15 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
So, is it a forgotten opera? 176.32.19.44 (talk) 13:24, 15 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
And anyway, I wish it were a more famous British opera 176.32.19.44 (talk) 19:15, 15 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

"better source needed" tag on Richard Strauss

edit

Hi Michael, I have requested the removal of a "better source needed" tag you added to a quotation on Richard Strauss back in 2020 [1] (quotation from his journals about being appointed to the Reichsmusikkammer), since the broadcast it is cited to is currently listenable for free online (labeled Friday, June 14, 2024) for the next 13 days at https://www.wfmt.com/programs/exploring-music/. The quote is at about one-and-a-half minutes in.

The talkpage thread is Talk:Richard Strauss#"better source needed" tag on Strauss quote. Thanks! Softlavender (talk) 22:45, 15 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Responded there. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 00:31, 16 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
