Ministry of Justice (Japan) → Ministry of Justice (modern Japan) – Fails WP:PRECISE since there is Ministry of Justice (pre-modern Japan). Timmyshin (talk) 02:54, 18 March 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose. While I don't intend for this to devolve into WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, I believe there is an assumption that the unqualified "Japan" refers to the modern state. For example, we don't see conflicts between the following sets of current articles: Taxation in premodern China and Taxation in China, Flag of French Sudan and Flag of Sudan, Ancient Greek religion and Religion in Greece, Foreign relations of Nazi Germany and Foreign relations of Germany. Alternatively, if that's not the case, a sentence can be added to the Meiji Constitution section of this article that says something like, "Prior to the establishment of the modern Ministry of Justice, the duties of the Ministry of Justice were performed by the gyōbushō and danjodai" with a main article link to Ministry of Justice (pre-modern Japan). Then this becomes a parent article and the problem should be resolved. Dekimasuよ! 03:37, 18 March 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose – It seems precise enough; nobody would suspect that Japan here means anything but the current country. Dicklyon (talk) 04:52, 18 March 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose. The current ministry is the overwhelming WP:PRIMARYTOPIC [1] and the hatnote is sufficient for those seeking the older ministry. Station1 (talk) 20:02, 18 March 2018 (UTC)
