States of India by installed power capacity

This is a list of states and territories of India by installed power generation capacity. This is measured in Megawatts (MW) which is equal to one million watts of electric power. As of 31 October 2023, the installed capacity is 425535.52 MW. Gujarat (48.6 GW) leads in power generation capacity, followed by Maharashtra (44.8 GW) and Tamil Nadu (38.2 GW), though Rajasthan leads in renewable energy capacity.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]
