Title history edit

Himeka with one half of the Goddesses of Stardom Championship title belt in 2021

On August 2, 2011, Stardom held a press conference to announce the first ever Goddesses of Stardom Tag League, which would culminate in the crowning of the first Goddesses of Stardom Champions.[1] The finals of the tournament took place on November 27, 2011, and saw BY Hou (Yoko Bito and Yuzuki Aikawa) defeat Kawasaki Katsushika Saikyou Densetsu (Natsuki☆Taiyo and Yoshiko) to become the inaugural champions.[2] The title belt was crafted by American company Top Rope Belts.[5]

Like most professional wrestling championships, the title is won as a result of a scripted match. There have been a total of 31 reigns shared among 28 different teams consisting of 40 distinctive wrestlers. The current champions are FWC (Hazuki and Koguma) who are in their third reign as a team as well as individually.

Reigns edit

As of May 24, 2024, there have been 31 reigns between 29 teams composed of 42 individual champions and five vacancies. The inaugural champions were BY Hou (Yoko Bito and Yuzuki Aikawa). The teams of FWC (Hazuki and Koguma) and AphroditE (Utami Hayashishita and Saya Kamitani) hold the record with the most reigns at two, while individually, Jungle Kyona, Kairi Hojo, Kyoko Kimura, Nanae Takahashi and Utami Hayashishita are tied with most reigns at three. As a team, Thunder Rock (Io Shirai and Mayu Iwatani) has the longest reign at 497 days, while Ho-Show Tennyo (Hojo and Natsumi Showzuki) has the shortest reign at 34 days. Nanae Takahashi is the oldest champion at 44 years old, while Yoshiko is the youngest at 19 years old.

FWC (Hazuki and Koguma) are the current champions in their first reign as a team. They won the title by defeating Crazy Star (Suzu Suzuki and Mei Seira) at Stardom Fukuoka Golden Week Tour on May 5, 2024, in Fukuoka, Japan.
