2010–11 WHL season

The 2010–11 WHL season was the 45th season of the Western Hockey League (WHL). The regular season began on September 24, 2010, and ended on March 20, 2011. The 2010 Subway Super Series, featuring Team WHL versus Team Russia, took place mid-season from November 17 to 18, 2010. The Saskatoon Blades won their fourth Scotty Munro Memorial Trophy for best regular season record. The playoffs began on March 25, 2011, and concluded on May 13. The Kootenay Ice won the Ed Chynoweth Cup for the third time, defeating the Portland Winterhawks in the championship series.[1] This earned Kootenay a berth in the 2011 Memorial Cup tournament.
