Als een dierbare ineens geen belangstelling meer heeft voor dagelijkse activiteiten, weinig energie heeft, en zich hulpeloos of hopeloos lijkt te voelen, wil dat zeggen dat het tijd wordt om eens over zijn of haar mentale gesteldheid te praten, of om een afspraak te maken met de huisarts, of met een therapeut.[6]
