How to Replace a Car's Side View Mirror

Adjust your side mirrors until you see the tips of your doorknobs and the full view of the street. You will see parts of two doorknobs from the right side mirror and one doorknob from the left side mirror. Make sure to position your rearview mirror so that you can see the entire view behind you. You should be able to see everything while stationary. You should not need to move your head to see a good view.

There is a trim piece inside the door just behind where the mirror is located. The trim piece should be removed and there should be a couple of nuts and an electrical connector. Remove the nuts and unplug the connector. Install the new unit, tighten, and replace the trim.
