Do you need to remove a header from just one page of your Word document? If you don't want a header at the top of the second page of your Word document, you have a few easy options. You can either remove the header from the second page only, or start your headers later in the document. This How.com.vn article will show you how to remove a header from the second page of a Microsoft Word document on your Windows PC or Mac.

Removing a Header from the Second Page in a Word Doc

Add a section break to the top, unlink the header, then delete it. To remove the header from the first page only, enable "Different first page" in Insert > Header > Edit Header. You can use these steps to remove the header or footer from any page in your document.

Double-click the header, and make sure the Header & Footer tab is active.
  12. How.com.vn English: Step 12 Click Link to Previous on the toolbar.
The header is now unlinked from the previous page.
  13. How.com.vn English: Step 13 Add or recreate the header.
At this point, you can create a new header on this page that will carry over to all subsequent pages, or copy the header from the first page (if you have one).
    • With the header still open for editing, click Header in the toolbar.
    • Choose a header preset or click Edit Header to create a custom header.
    • Alternatively, you can copy the header from the first page, then paste it into this header.
    • When you're finished, click Close Header & Footer.
