Want to pin a post to the top of your Facebook Page? You can easily do so using the mobile app or the desktop browser version of Facebook. However, the right way to do it depends on whether you’re using a Classic Page or the New Pages Experience. You can also pin posts and other features to the top of a Facebook group. In this article, we’ll explain how to pin posts using the Facebook app for iPhone, iPad, or Android, or using any browser on your Windows or Mac computer.

Things You Should Know

• You can pin a post using the New Pages Experience on a browser or in any version of the Facebook app.
• If you’re still using Classic Pages, you’ll need to use the iOS app or a web browser to pin posts.
• Use the Featured section or the Group Settings menu to pin items in a group.
• Currently, it’s only possible to pin posts in a Page or group. You can’t pin posts to your personal profile.

Using iPhone and iPad (New Pages)

   Open the Facebook app. To pin a post in the Facebook app for iPhone and iPad, first open the app. It looks like a white f on a blue background. If you haven’t already logged in, do so now.

   • This technique will work for newer Facebook Pages. Unfortunately, you can’t pin posts to your personal profile.

   Tap the ☰ button. This menu button is located in the bottom right corner of the screen. Tap it to open the main Facebook menu.

   Select your page from the Your profiles & Pages menu. At the top of the screen, tap the down arrow next to your name and profile picture. Tap on your Page in the menu that pops up at the bottom of the screen.

   Tap the Page tab at the bottom of the screen. It looks like a circle with a simple drawing of a person’s head and shoulders inside.

   Scroll down to Featured. This header is located underneath Your posts.

   Tap Manage. It’s a link in the top right corner of the Featured section.

   Select and event, video, or post to pin. If you’ve never pinned a post before, you’ll see a menu with displaying several options. Select from Upcoming event, Recent Videos, and Recent posts you can pin.

   • If you’ve already pinned a post at some point, select the + button next to the featured post(s) to get to this menu.

   Tap the Pin button in the corner of the post. You’ll see a pushpin icon in the top right corner of each video, post, or event in the Manage featured menu. Tap it to pin the item to the top of your Page. The post will now remain at the top of your Page until you unpin it! You can pin up to 6 items to the Featured section of your Page.

   • You can also tap the ••• button in the top right corner of any post on your page and select Pin post from the menu that pops up.
   • If you’ve pinned several items, you can rearrange them however you like.
     • Scroll down to the Featured header in the main Page tab, then tap Manage.
     • Tap the ••• button in the top right corner of any of the pinned posts and select Move to front, Move left, or Move right.
     • Tap Done when you’re finished.

   Tap the ••• button and select Unpin to unpin the post. If you want to unpin a post, go to your Page and tap the ••• in the top right corner of the post. Select Unpin post from the menu.

   • You can also go back to the Manage featured menu and tap the blue pushpin icon next to any pinned icon to unpin it.

Using iPhone and iPad (Classic Pages)

   Open the Facebook app. It looks like a white f on a blue background. Tap the app on your Home screen to open Facebook.

   • If prompted to sign in, type in your email address, phone number, or usernameyou’re your password, then click Log In.
   • This technique works with older Pages that are still using the Classic Pages format. You must be an Admin or Editor for the page in order to pin posts.

   Tap the ☰ button. It’s located at the bottom of the screen. This will open the main Facebook menu.

   Scroll down and select Pages. It’s located in the All shortcuts section of the menu. The Pages icon looks like an orange flag on a blue flagpole.

   Select your Page from the menu. If you are and Admin or Editor of a Classic Page, you’ll see it listed in the Pages menu. Tap on your Page to open it.

   Tap the ••• icon on a post. It will be the icon with three dots in the top right corner of the post. A drop-down menu will appear.

   Select Pin to Top. The page will reload, and the post will appear above the rest at the top of the page.

   Use the ••• menu to unpin the post. To unpin a post, navigate to the post on your Facebook page, tap the ••• icon, then tap Unpin From Top.

Using Android (New Pages Only)

   Open the Facebook app. If you’re using the Facebook app for Android, you can only pin posts to Pages that are using the New Pages Experience. To get started, launch the Facebook app on your Android device and log in, if you haven’t already.

   Tap the ☰ button at the top of the screen. This will open the main Facebook menu. You can also tap your Profile Picture.

   Select your Page from the menu. Tap the down arrow next to your profile picture to see a list of your profiles and Pages. Select the Page where you want to pin your post.

   Open the Page tab. Look for an icon at the top of the page that looks like a circle with a person’s head and shoulders inside. Tap it to open the main control center for your Page.

   Scroll down to Featured. Look for the Featured header partway down the page. If you’ve already pinned any of your posts in the past, you’ll see them there.

   Tap Manage. It’s a link at the top of the Featured section. If there are already pinned posts in your Featured section, tap + next to them to add a new one.

   Select an event, video, or post to pin. In the Manage featured menu, you’ll have the option to pin an Upcoming event, one of your Recent videos, or one of your Recent posts. Tap the pushpin icon at the top right corner of any of those options to pin it.

   • You can also locate any post on your Page and tap the ••• icon in the top right corner, then select Pin post to pin it.
   • If you’ve pinned more than one post to the Featured section of your page, you can rearrange them.
     • Scroll down to Featured, tap Manage, then tap the ••• icon at the top of any post.
     • Select Move to front, Move left, or Move right to change the order of the posts in the Featured section.

   Use the ••• menu to unpin a post. Your pinned posts will remain in the Featured section until you unpin them. To do this, scroll down to Featured, tap Manage, then tap the ••• button in the top right corner of any of your pinned posts. Tap Unpin to unpin the item.

   Go to https://www.facebook.com in a web browser. If you run or have access to a Page using the New Pages experience, you can easily pin posts to the top of your Page using any web browser. Start by going to the Facebook website. If you haven’t already logged in, do so now using the personal account that’s associated with your page.

   Click your Profile Picture. It’s located in the top right corner of the Facebook page.

   Select See all Profiles. You can also click your Page icon to the right of your Profile Picture to switch to your page.

   Click on your Page in the list. In the Select Profile menu, click the Page where you want to pin the post. If you manage multiple Pages, you may need to click See all Pages to find the one you’re looking for.

   Click the name of your Page in the left or right menu. Once you’ve switched to your Page, click the Page’s name and profile picture, either under Home in the left-hand menu pane, or under Manage Pages and Profiles on the right. This will take you to the Manage Page screen.

   Scroll down to the Featured section. It’s in the main pane for your Page, right under the Photos header.

   Click Manage. You’ll see this link in the top right corner of the Featured section.

   Select an item to pin. If you’ve already pinned a post at some point, click the + button to bring up a menu of options. If you’ve never pinned anything before, the menu will open as soon as you click Manage. Select from Upcoming event, Recent Videos, or Recent posts you can pin.

   Click the Pin icon in the top right corner of a post. You’ll see an icon that looks like a pushpin in the upper right corner of any item you can pin. Click it to pin your selected video, event, or post to the top of the Page.

   • You can also click the ••• in the top right corner of any post on your page, then select Pin post from the menu.
   • If you’ve pinned multiple items to the top of your Page, you can rearrange them in the Featured section of the Page.
     • Go to Featured, click Manage, then open the ••• menu in the top right corner of any pinned item and choose from one of the Move options.
     • Click Done when you’re finished.

    Unpin any post using the Featured menu. If you’re ready to unpin a post, go to the Featured section of your page and click Manage. Click the ••• button at the top right corner of any pinned post, then select Unpin. Click Done when you’re finished.

   Open https://www.facebook.com in a web browser. If you’re an Admin or Editor on a page that still uses the Classic Pages format, you can pin posts on a computer using the web version of Facebook. You can use any web browser on Windows or Mac.

   • If prompted to sign in, type in your username (or email or phone number) and password, then click Log In.

   Scroll down and click the ••• icon on a post. It will be in the top right corner of the post’s box. A drop-down menu will appear.

   • To unpin a post, navigate to the post on your Facebook page, click the ••• icon, then click Unpin from top of Page.

Pinning Posts in a Group (Mobile)

   Open the Facebook app. If you’re an Admin or Moderator in a Facebook group, you can pin posts and other items to the Featured section at the top of the group page. Depending on what type of item you’re pinning, there are a few ways to do this. To get started, open the Facebook app on your iPhone, iPad, or Android device.

   • Log in if you haven’t done so already.

   Tap the ☰ button. If you’re using the iPhone or iPad app, it’s at the bottom of the screen. If you’re using the Android app, it’s a the top.

   Select Groups from the menu. You’ll see it in the list of All shortcuts. You might also see the group you want to manage in the Your shortcuts section close to the top of the menu.

   Tap Your groups. This will open a list of all your groups. Groups you manage will appear at the top of the list.

   • In this screen, you’ll also see an option to pin groups to the top of the menu. This is different from pinning posts in a group—it’ll just make it easier for you to find your favorite groups.

   Select the group where you want to pin the post. Find your group in the list and tap on it to open it.

   Tap ••• at the top of any post to find the pin option. To pin a regular post to the top of your group, find the post and tap the ••• in the top right corner of the post. Select Pin to Featured to pin the post to the Featured section at the top of the group.

   Pin the group rules using Add in the Featured section. If you want to pin the group rules to the top of the page, open the page and navigate to the Featured header. Tap Add, then tap the pushpin icon next to Rules.

   Pin group features using the shield icon. To pin a group feature, such as Community Chats, Q&A, or events, click the shield icon in the top right corner of the group page. From there:

   • Tap Group settings.
   • Scroll down to the Added to group section.
   • Select the feature you want to pin.
   • Toggle on the Pin to the Featured section option if it’s available. You can only do this for some types of group features.

   Move pinned items with the ••• menu. If you’ve pinned several items to the Featured section of your group, you can rearrange them. Tap the ••• icon to the right of any pinned item, then select Move to front, Move right, or Move left to move it.

    Tap Unpin in the ••• menu to unpin an item. If you’re ready to remove a pinned item from the Featured section, tap the ••• to the right of the item, then select Unpin.

Pinning Posts in a Group (Computer)

   Open the Facebook website in a browser. To pin posts to the top of a group you manage on a computer, go to https://www.facebook.com/. Log in if you haven’t already.

   Click the See all groups icon in the left menu pane. It looks like a person’s head and shoulders overlapping two smaller figures in the background.

   Select your group from Groups you manage. You’ll see this section near the top of the Groups menu on the left side of the page. Click on one of your groups to open it.

   Find the post you want to pin and click •••. Scroll down in your group and find the post you want to pin. Click ••• to open a menu.

   Click Pin to Featured. This will pin the post to the Featured section at the top of the group.

   Use Add to pin the rules or other features. If you want to pin the group rules to the top of the page, scroll to the Featured section and click Add. Choose the type of item you want to pin and click the pushpin icon in the top right corner.

   • Using this menu, you can pin the group rules, real-time group activities (such as live videos or group chats), or upcoming events.

   Pin group features using the Group Settings menu. If you want to pin a special group feature, such as Q&A or Community Chats, you can do so from the Group Settings menu. To do it:

   • Click the Manage tab in the left menu pane for your group.
   • Scroll down to the Settings header and click Group Settings.
   • Scroll to Added to Group and click the
     
     Edit button next to the feature you want to pin.
   • Toggle on Pin to the Featured section.

   Move or unpin Featured items with the ••• menu. If you want to rearrange or unpin something from the Featured section, navigate to Featured and click the ••• in the top right corner of any pinned post or item. Select one of the Move options to change the position of the item, or select Unpin to remove it from the Featured section.
