Whether you're playing a game of hide-and-seek, trying to get away from someone who annoys you, or pulling a prank on your friends, sometimes you just need to hide. The best hiding spots are those that keep you completely covered, like behind the couch, under a pile of clothes, or inside a cabinet or similar space. Once you've got the perfect place of concealment picked out, be silent, keep still, and make yourself as small as possible to stay invisible and avoid detection.

Stay out of your pursuer's line of sight. People tend to look left to right when they're searching for something. For this reason, it's best to choose a spot that's either above or below eye-level. This will help you choose a less obvious hiding spot and also help make your movements less noticeable.

Climb a tree. Look around for trees with thick canopies—these will provide the best cover. - If you're perched on one of the lower branches, don't let your feet dangle where they can be seen.
- The same basic rules of hiding apply when you're in a tree: remain quiet and still. Rustling leaves can be a dead-give away.

Crouch in a bush. You don't actually have to get inside the bush. In most situations, simply getting low and staying behind it will be good enough. Just like with trees, though, avoid making any sudden movements that might cause the bush to shake, or you could end up blowing your cover.

Unless you're much faster than the person looking for you, you'll need to find a spot that's nearby and easily accessible. Inside a closet or behind a piece of furniture might work indoors. If you're outside, try crouching at the bottom of a ditch, ducking behind a bush, or scrambling up a tree. Even if you have a good spot, you're more likely to be discovered if the person is right on your tail!
