   • If you want more confirmation that you’re ovulating, use an ovulation kit or a basal thermometer. Take your basal body temperature every day to see when it raises—that will indicate that you’re ovulating.

   Gather 3 white candles. To do this spell you need a new, unlit white candle for the day before ovulation, the day of ovulation, and the day after. To make the spell more powerful, you can use homemade fertility candles or dress candles to make them specific to you.

   • Dressing is the practice of imbuing a candle with your energy. You can carve your name into the candle, a symbol that represents you or your partner, or the name of the baby you want to have.

   Get a clear glass bowl, a fig, and an egg. Place the bowl in the center of a table and rest the egg to the left of it and the fig to the right.

   • Figs and eggs are both symbols of fertility, often used in this sort of magic. The fig is also thought to metaphorically feed the soul.

   Light a white candle and a stick of frankincense. To put energy into the spell, light a white candle and frankincense incense. Place both on the table above the bowl.

   Combine the egg and the seeds of the fig. Carefully crack the egg (you need the shell intact for the next step) and empty it into the bowl. Use a knife or a boline (a Wiccan, scythe-like knife) to make a large slit in the fig. Scoop out the seeds and drop them into the bowl.

   • When you’re done pouring the egg into the bowl, place the shell back on the left side.

   • Watermelon represents feminine energy, raspberries represent fertility, honey represents prosperity, and apple cider vinegar represents masculine energy and protection.
   • You can also add orange zest, red clover, or lavender to your potion.

   • In addition to eggshells, you can also use snakeskin. The shed skin is also thought to represent renewal and rebirth.

   • Tie together 7 sticks from each set on either side. These are the legs of the doll.
   • Tie 4 more sticks together and attach them perpendicular to the body of the doll. These are the arms.

    • Getting pregnant is easiest around the time you ovulate. Keep track of your cycle with a calendar and basal thermometer, and do this spell four days before ovulation. For best results, have sex as many nights as you’re comfortable with from four days before to three days after.

Homemade Fertility Candle

   Make a mold out of an eggshell. Using a nail, poke through the base of a raw egg. To make the hole large enough, carefully cut out a circle with cuticle scissors. Dump out the contents of the egg and clean it out entirely with warm water. Let the shell dry out overnight.

   • Eggs are a common ingredient in fertility spells because they represent new life and birth.

   Tie a candle wick around a toothpick and hang it in the egg. Measure the wick slightly longer than the egg and tie it around a toothpick. Steady the egg in a carton or shot glass and hang the wick directly in the center. Keep it in place by laying the toothpick across the edges of the opening.

   • Many craft stores sell candle wicks, but if you’re in an especially DIY mood, you can make your own wick at home.

   Melt white or red wax and fill the egg halfway up. Cut up chunks of candle wax and put them in a heat-safe bowl.
