If you play Roblox, you may be wondering how you can enable face tracking. Face tracking (also called "animate your avatar" by Roblox) will display your facial expressions and reactions on your avatar while you're talking. To get started, you'll need an age-verified Roblox account and a webcam, or a mobile device with a front-facing camera.

3. Make sure your avatar head supports facial animation, noted by a winking face icon.
4. Enter an experience that allows camera communication.

   Go to your Roblox account settings. You can do this while you're in Roblox by clicking the cogwheel in the upper-right corner and clicking on Settings.

   Open your privacy settings. The option is in the left-hand sidebar, under the option that says Security and above the option that says Billing.

   Toggle on the "Use camera to animate your avatar with your movement" option. This option will enable Roblox's face tracking features via your webcam.

   • Roblox's face animation features work with standalone webcams or built-in ones, like on a laptop.
   • If you don't see this option, you may need to verify your age with Roblox. To verify your age, go to Settings > Account Info > Verify My Age.

   Make sure your avatar head supports face animation. In order to use face tracking, you need to have an avatar head that supports it. You may already have a head that supports animation, or you may need to get a new one.

   • In the navigation menu, click on the Avatar option. Then, click on Head & Body.
   • Look for a head with a winking face icon in the corner. This icon indicates that the head can be used with face tracking.
   • If you don't have a head that has face tracking capabilities, you will need to get one in the Marketplace.

   Enter an experience that supports animated avatars. Not every Roblox experience allows face tracking. Experiences that allow animated avatars will have the word Camera under the "Communication" heading in the experience's "About" section.

   Select the correct webcam. If you have multiple cameras on your computer or your face tracking isn't working when you load into an experience, you may need to change your settings.

   • Click the Roblox tilt logo in the upper-left corner, then click on Settings.
   • Scroll down to Video Camera and make sure your webcam is selected.

   Turn off avatar animation when you're done with it. You can turn off avatar animation by going back to the Privacy tab and toggling off "Use camera to animate your avatar with your movement".

• If you don't have a face tracking setting, make sure to verify your age on your account. If your age is verified and you still don't have face tracking, Roblox has likely not rolled out the face tracking feature to your account yet. Face tracking is a beta feature, similar to voice chat.
