I september 2019 starta Representanthuset i USA ein prosess for å stille Trump for riksrett etter varsel som hevda at Trump misbrukte makta si for å få presidenten av Ukraina, Volodymyr Zelensky, til å etterforske Hunter Biden, son av Joe Biden.[4]

Karriere som forretningsmann endre

Trump var president og styreleiar i The Trump Organization då han vart vald til USA sin leiar.[5] Han grunnla konsernet Trump Entertainment Resorts, ei kasino- og hotellverksemd som han eigde fram til 1995.[6][7]
