Mantegna ye italoamericanu. Ye fíu de Mary Ann y Joseph Anthony Mantegna Sr., quién morrió en 1969 por tuberculosis.
Joe ta casáu con Arlene Vrhel dende'l 3 d'avientu de 1975. Xunto con Arlene tien dos fíos, Gina Mantegna y Mia Mantegna, siendo esta postrera una moza con autismu.
Trayeutoria editar
El so historial de filmes, destaca por: The Money Pit (con Tom Hanks), Alice (con Mia Farrow), Bugsy (con Warren Beatty y Annette Bening), Body of Evidence (con Madonna y Willem Dafoe) y Celebrity de Woody Allen. En 2000 rodó la comedia española Desafinado, de Manuel Gómez Pereira, xunto a George Hamilton y Danny Aiello.
Joe Mantegna ye tamién popular por dar la voz al personaxe de Fat Tony na serie de dibuxos animaos The Simpsons.
