Mix a little lukewarm water and mild cleaning detergent in a bucket, then dip an old clean toothbrush into the water. Use that to scrub the shoe anywhere that's needed. Then, take a towel or a microfiber cloth and blot the soapy moisture off of the shoe. Once you're done with that, keep the shoe in a dry, well-ventilated area so it dries out.
