How to View Running Apps on Android

This How.com.vn teaches you how to view a list of every application that's running (and how much memory each uses) on an Android phone or tablet.

Steps

  1. How.com.vn English: Step 1 Open your Android’s Settings.
    It’s the

    icon typically located in the app drawer.
  2. How.com.vn English: Step 2 Scroll down and tap About.
    This is called About device or About phone on some Androids.
  3. How.com.vn English: Step 3 Scroll down and tap Software Information.
    It’s near the bottom of the menu. If you don’t see this option you can skip this step.[1]
  4. How.com.vn English: Step 4 Tap Build number seven times.
    After the 7th tap, you’ll see “You are now a developer.”
  5. How.com.vn English: Step 5 Return to the Settings menu.
    You can do this by tapping your phone or tablet’s back button until you’re there.

    It’s near the bottom of the menu, usually right above the About option.
  7. How.com.vn English: Step 7 Tap Running services.
    It’s at the bottom of the list. Now you'll see a list of every app that's running, as well as how much memory each app is using.
    • The amount of RAM being used by each app process appears next to each app's name.
    • Return to this menu every time you want to find out which apps are running.
