How to Use the VSCO Camera App on iPhone or iPad

This How.com.vn teaches you how to get started with VSCO, the free camera and photo editing app, on an iPhone or iPad. You can also share photos you’ve taken or edited in other apps, or by publishing them to the VSCO community.

Taking Photos

Open VSCO on your iPhone or iPad. It’s the white icon containing a circle comprised of two rows of squares. You’ll usually find it on the home screen.
- If you haven’t yet installed the app, you can download it for free from the App Store. Just search for vsco, tap VSCO, and then tap GET to install it.
- When launching VSCO for the first time, follow the on-screen instructions to create an account or log into an existing one.

Tap the camera icon. It’s at the top-left corner of the screen.
- If it’s your first time using VSCO to take a photo, you may have to give the app access to your camera.

Prepare your shot. VSCO provides several options to help you get the best possible photo:^{[2]XResearch source}
- Tap the square with an ″x″ inside to display a grid/guidelines to help you line up your shot. Keep tapping it until you see the grid you need.
- Tap the lightning bolt icon to toggle on/off the flash.
- Tap the sun icon to open a slider that controls the brightness.
- Tap WB to control the white-balance.
- Tap RAW to save the photo in the raw format.
- Tap the camera icon surrounded by arrows (in the black bar at the bottom) to toggle from the back to the front camera.

Tap the shutter button to snap a photo. It’s the large circle at the bottom-center part of the screen. This captures the photo and displays a preview at the bottom-left corner of the screen.
- Tap the preview to view the photo.

Editing Photos

Select a preset filter (optional). Swipe left through the options at the bottom of the screen, and then tap a filter to see a preview.
- To decrease the filter strength, tap the same filter again to open the slider, drag the knob left until you’ve reached a desirable level, and then tap the check mark.

Tap the Settings icon to fine-tune the photo (optional). It’s the two sliders knobs at the bottom of the screen (toward the left). A list of quality, lighting, and color options will appear.
- Tap Exposure to control the light in the photo.
- Tap Contrast to increase the contrast between lights and darks.
- Tap Adjust to crop or rotate the photo.
- Tap Sharpen to make lines appear more crisp.
- Tap Clarity to remove blur and noise from the photo.
- Tap Saturation to make the colors more or less vivid.
- Tap Tone to adjust color hues.
- Tap White Balance to adjust the temperature and tint of whites in the photo.
- Tap Skin Tone to adjust the tone of a person’s skin.
- Tap Vignette to darken or brighten the area around the edges.
- Tap Grain to add noise.
- Tap Fade to lighten/fade the photo.
This returns you to your Studio.

Publishing Photos to VSCO

Tap the photo you want to share. This opens the photo.
- You can only publish one photo to VSCO at a time.
It’s the up-pointing arrow in the gray bar at the bottom of the screen.

Sharing Photos in Other Apps

You can share your photos on your favorite social media platforms, as well as through email and messaging apps.
Depending on the app you selected, you may have to select a recipient and/or tap a send or post button.
