Untapped is a social media app for beer drinkers. It allows you to "check-in" and rate beers that you drink and see how others rate different beers. It also allows you to find nearby venues that serve great beer. This How.com.vn teaches you how to use Untapped.

Getting Started

   Download the Untappd app. Untappd is available for free from the Google Play Store on Android devices or the App Store on iPhone and iPad. Use the following steps to download and install Untappd:

   • Open the Google Play Store or App Store.
   • Tap the Search tab (iPhone and iPad only).
   • Type "Untappd" in the search bar.
   • Tap Untappd.
   • Tap GET or Install next to Untapped.

   Open the Untappd app. It has a yellow icon with two beer bottles crossing at the neck. Tap the Untappd icon on your Home screen or Apps menu to open Untappd.

   Tap Don't Have an Account? Sign Up!. It's at the bottom of the screen.

   • Alternatively, you can tap Continue with Facebook to sign up with your Facebook account.

   Enter a username. Use the first bar at the top to enter a username. It must be a username that nobody else has.

   Fill out the rest of the form. To fill out the rest of the form, you will need to enter your first and last name, a valid email address, a password you will use to log in with, your gender (optional), and your country.

   Add a photo (optional). To add a photo, tap Add Photo at the top of the page. Then tap Camera to take a photo with your camera, or tap Photo Gallery to select a photo from your phone.

   Tap Create account. It's the yellow button at the bottom of the page. This creates your Untapped account.

   Verify Your email. Use the steps to verify your email:

   • Open the Untapped app.
   • Tap Verify Email at the top of the Discover page.
   • Enter your email and click the checkbox next to "I am not a robot."
   • Click Submit.
   • Open the verification email in your inbox.
   • Click the link that says "Click here to verify" in the email.

Discovering Beers and Locations

   Open the Untappd app. It has a yellow icon with two beer bottles crossing at the neck. Tap the Untappd icon on your Home screen or Apps menu to open Untappd.

   Tap the Discover tab. It's at the bottom of the screen in the center. This is the page the app generally opens to.

   • Alternatively, to view a list of nearby venues on a map, tap Map at the bottom of the screen.

   Tap Nearby Venues, or Trending Locations to view locations that serve beer. Tap "Nearby Venues" to view a list of places near your current location, or tap "Trending Locations" to see a list of the best venues in your area.

   • You can also use the search bar at the top to search for a beer or venue by name.
   • To adjust the distance of nearby venues, tap Distance in the upper-right corner and then tap a radio option next to how many miles you want to search.
   • Alternatively, you can tap Upcoming Events to view a list of events nearby venues are putting on. Tap Details to view more information about an event, or tap Interested to track the event.

   Tap Trending Beers, Top Rated Beers, or Top Rated Breweries to view a list of beers. "Trending Beers" displays a list of beers that are currently trending. "Top Rated Beers" displays a list of the highest-rated beers. "Top Rated Breweries" displays a list of the highest-rated beer producers. Tap the name of a brewery to view a list of beers they make.

   • To find where to buy a beer listed, tap the icon with three dots ( ⋮ ) next to a beer. This displays a menu. Then tap Find It to display a list of nearby verified venues.

   Tap the name of a venue. Use one of the lists of nearby venues under the Discover tab or use the search bar at the top of the Discover tab to search for a venue by name. Tap a venue you are visiting.

   • To receive notifications about a venue, tap the blue button that says Subscribe at the top of the information page. You can view your notifications by tapping Notifications at the bottom of the screen.

   Tap Check-in Here. It's the green button at the top of the venue information page. This displays a list of beers nearby the location.

   • Alternatively, you can tap Menus at the venue information page to view a list of beers on their menu.

Checking In with A Beer

   Open the Untappd app. It has a yellow icon with two beer bottles crossing at the neck. Tap the Untappd icon on your Home screen or Apps menu to open Untappd.

   . It's the blue button with the plus (+) sign in the lower-right corner. This displays the Check-in menu. This allows you to search for a beer you are drinking and rate it.

   Type the name of a beer you are drinking in the search bar. The search bar is at the top of the page. This displays a list of beers that match your search result.

   • Alternatively, you can use the Discover tab at the bottom of the screen to find new beers.

   Tap a beer you are drinking. This displays the check-in screen.

   Type a brief review. Use the text field at the top to briefly explain how the beer was.

   Add a photo (optional). If you want to add a picture of the beer, tap Add Photo in the upper-right corner. Tap Camera to use your camera to take a photo. Tap Photo Gallery to select a photo from your phone.

   Give the beer a rating. Tap a location on the line below "Rating." Leave the yellow dot all the way to the left to leave the beer unrated. You can rate it anything from 0.25 (not good at all) to 5 (excellent).

   Select a serving style. Tap one of the blue boxes below "Serving Style" to select a serving style. Options include "Draft," "Bottle," "Can," "Taster," "Cask," "Nitro," "Crowler," and "Growler."

   Tag friends. If you are with any friends who also use Untapped, you can tag them. Tap Tag Friends and then tap the names of the friends you are with.

    Select a location. Tap one of the locations listed below "Location." If you are at home, tap Untapped at Home.

    Select a flavor profile. Tap the blue boxes below "Flavor Profile" to select a flavor profile. Options include, "Strong," "Smooth," "Malty," "Sweet," "Light." Tap all that apply.

    Select a purchase location. To select a purchase location, tap Purchased Location, then tap one of the nearby venues, or enter the name of the purchase location in the search bar at the top. Tap the name of the venue you purchased the beer from.

    Tap Check-In. It's the green button at the bottom of the screen. The completes your beer check-in. Other users can view your beer check-ins and reviews.

    • To view your check-ins. Tap the Activity tab in the lower-left corner. Tap Friends to view check-ins by you and your friends. Tap Nearby to view nearby check-ins. If you are part of any groups on Untapped, tap the Groups tab to view check-ins from groups you belong to.
