Adding Video and Photo Clips

  1. How.com.vn English: Step 1 Open Clips.
It’s the blue circle with a white video camera on the home screen. Since you’re new to Clips, this method will help you create your first video full of clips.
  2. How.com.vn English: Step 2 Set up Clips for first-time use.
If you’ve already opened Clips on your iPhone or iPad, skip to the next step. Otherwise, tap Get Started after the video, then give the app permission to access your camera, microphone, and gallery as requested.
  3. How.com.vn English: Step 3 Tap the downward-pointing arrow.
It’s at the top-left corner of the screen.
  4. How.com.vn English: Step 4 Tap New Video.
It’s the option with a plus (+) symbol. This opens the video screen. A “Video” is basically a container for a collection of clips, which may include photo or videos.[2] Every video must have at least one photo or video clip.
  5. How.com.vn English: Step 5 Add a video clip.
A video clip is a short video you can add to your creation. Tap and hold Hold to Record as you record, and lift your finger when you’re done. The recorded clip will appear at the bottom of the screen. Be sure to make use of the following features:
    • Tap the camera with two curved arrows to switch from the front to back camera, and vice-versa.
    • If you don’t want to have to hold the record button the whole time you’re recording, slide your finger to the left to lock the button.
    • Zoom out by pinching two fingers together on the screen, or zoom in by pinching two fingers apart.
  6. How.com.vn English: Step 6 Add a photo clip to your video.
The photo will be the second clip in your video. Here’s how to add a photo:
    • Tap Photo to open the camera.
    • Tap the circle to capture the photo.
    • Tap and hold Hold to add this photo. Your photo is now added to the clip.
  7. How.com.vn English: Step 7 Add photos or videos from your iPhone or iPad.
Tap Library to open the gallery, then tap a photo or video to add it as a clip. You can add as many photo and video clips from your library as you wish.
  8. How.com.vn English: Step 8 Add additional clips until you're finished with your video.
Record video clips, take photo clips, or select content from your library until your video is complete.

    • Hold down the record button as you speak. Once you’re finished, your words will appear in the selected caption style.
  2. How.com.vn English: Step 2 Add title cards.
These are brief text animations that appear during your video. Tap the T in a square at the top of the screen to add text-only screens to your video. Select a title card, then press the record button to add it.
  3. How.com.vn English: Step 3 Add a soundtrack.
If you don’t want to add music, you can skip this step. Otherwise, tap the music note and select a track (or download an option). Tap the back button and press play for a preview, and then tap Done when you’re satisfied.
  4. How.com.vn English: Step 4 Add color and lighting filters.
Tap the three overlapping circles at the top of the screen to bring up a list of filters, then tap the one you want to use.

  5. How.com.vn English: Step 5 Add stickers.
Stickers are fun pictures and drawings you can paste anywhere on your video. Tap the star in a circle at the top of the screen, select a sticker, then drag it to the desired location.
    • Swipe left on the stickers to see additional options, including emoji.

Tap and drag one of the clips at the bottom of the screen to another location in the reel.[3]

Tap the mute button (a speaker with a line through it) to remove the selected music from this clip.
    • This only mutes the video for the selected video clip, not the entire video. To remove music from other clips, open those clips and tap the mute button.
  6. How.com.vn English: Step 6 Edit live titles.
If your live titles don’t look as you’d hoped, tap the three horizontal lines to edit the text, then tap Apply. You can also change the style by tapping the chat bubble icon at the top of the screen and selecting a different style.
  7. How.com.vn English: Step 7 Trim the clip.
To remove part of the clip at the beginning or end, tap the scissors, then slide the yellow bar to where you want the clip to begin and end. Once you’ve removed the excess, tap Apply to save the shorter clip.
  8. How.com.vn English: Step 8 Remove the clip from the video.
If you decide you don’t want to keep this clip, tap the trash icon, then tap Delete clip to confirm.
  9. How.com.vn English: Step 9 Save the clip to your iPhone or iPad.
To save the selected clip alone (i.e. not in the larger “video” container), tap the arrow pointing downward at the top-right corner of the screen.
