You know what it feels like to have that lingering body odor all day. You shower, but in a few hours you are going to look as if you haven't showered in days. You will look messy, untidy, and maybe even disgusting. So your question is "How do I stay clean looking all day?" Well, in just a few steps, you will look as if you are glowing and so clean!
Steps
- Take a Shower. This is extremely important. If you start by cleaning all the dirt and grime off, you will look and smell clean. While you are in the shower, be sure to clean your hair, face, and genital area. If you wish, shave your legs, arms, underarms, and private parts. Wash under arms, behind ears and neck too.[1]
- Clean teeth. If you have bad breath and food in your teeth, there is no way you are going to look clean. If you don't have braces, use a whitening toothpaste. Brush after breakfast, after lunch, and before you go to sleep. If you're in school, eat your lunch and go to the bathroom and brush your teeth with a travel-sized toothbrush and mini toothpaste tube. Floss every day and use a bacteria killing mouthwash.Advertisement
- Use deodorant. Antiperspirant deodorant should be applied under arms and any other place (besides face and neck) that you experience excessive sweating.
- Keep your hair clean. This means washing it frequently. You don't have to wash it every day, but you should wash it at least every other day.[2] Another thing is to keep your hair neat. All hairstyles you do should look neat and tidy.
- Makeup. Keep this to a minimum. Do not ring your eyes with black eyeliner and mascara. This smudges and makes you look really dirty. Try a little cover up, light foundation, a little dusting of blush, neutral eyeliner if you absolutely need eyeliner, and a peachy or neutral lip gloss. Maybe even just some chap-stick. Also if you wanted to apply a tiny bit of bronzer to give a sun-kissed look, this is absolutely fine. Always wash your makeup off before you go to sleep.[3]
- Keep a clean face. If you have food around your mouth on your face, it will make you look dirty. If you females have a hairy upper lip as do many females do, get it shaved, or waxed, or threaded. Also make sure your eyebrows are groomed and tidy.[4]
- Keep the following with you at all times. Breath mints/gum, hairbrush or comb, touch up makeup, lotion, matching spray, deodorant, nail filer/clippers, sanitation wipes, ponytail holders/bobby pins/ barrettes/ hairspray, water bottle, and chap stick.
- Wear clean clothing. Do not wear clothes with holes, stains, etc. Do not wear clothes that don't fit you well... this doesn't mean skin tight clothing either.
- Smile. With your pretty smile, you will look happy, clean, fresh and awake.[5]
- Posture. If you are slouching and walking all hunched over, you are going to look dirty and as if you have no confidence at all.[6]
Community Q&A
- QuestionMy face is naturally really red. How do I make it more toned without looking like I'm wearing a boatload of makeup?Community AnswerUse a light amount of light green CC cream to counteract your redness. Then apply a creamy concealer to cover any problem areas (such as pimples, etc.). Green CC cream and creamy concealers are available in your drugstores.
- QuestionHow can I deal with oily and sweaty skin on hot, muggy days?Community AnswerAlways keep some face cleansing pads (oil free) in your bag and if you wear make up be sure to wash your face before you put your makeup on everyday. Try not to wear too much makeup or any at all (I understand some people can't live without makeup as it makes them feel confident). I know this sounds strange but you could take a tiny bottle of toner and a cotton ball in your bag so you can just use it to get off all the oils.
- QuestionI am working as a teacher in school, and I get pimples on my face due to chalk powder. What can I do?Community AnswerBe sure to wash your face on every break you get to prevent chalk dust from building up.
