How to Share an Apple Music Playlist from an iPhone

This How.com.vn teaches you how to create and share an Apple Music playlist with friends via iMessage, Mail, AirDrop, Facebook, and more. As of February of 2017, a bug prevents some users from seeing the Share Playlist button. Apple is working on a solution.[1]

Creating A Playlist

  1. How.com.vn English: Step 1 Open the Music app.
    It's a white icon with a multicolor musical note on it.
  2. How.com.vn English: Step 2 Tap Library.
    It's at the bottom left corner of the screen.
  3. How.com.vn English: Step 3 Tap Playlists.
    It's towards the top of the Library screen.
  4. How.com.vn English: Step 4 Tap New Playlist.
    It's the button at the top of the screen with the "+" icon.
  5. Step 5 Tap "Playlist Name" to name the playlist.
    • Type in a name for your playlist using your iPhone's keyboard.
    • You can add a description by tapping, "Description," then typing in a description.
    • Tap the camera icon to add a photo to your playlist.
  6. How.com.vn English: Step 6 Tap Add Music to add songs.
    You can search for songs by artist, album, song name, genre, and more.
  7. How.com.vn English: Step 7 Tap on a song to add it to the playlist.
  8. How.com.vn English: Step 8 Tap Done.
    It's at the top right corner of the screen, and doing so will confirm your music selections.
  9. How.com.vn English: Step 9 Tap Done again.
    Tapping it will complete and save your playlist.

Sharing Your Playlist

  1. How.com.vn English: Step 1 Tap Library.
    It's at the bottom left corner of the screen.
  2. How.com.vn English: Step 2 Tap Playlists.
  3. How.com.vn English: Step 3 Tap on your newly created playlist.
  4. How.com.vn English: Step 4 Tap the pink button with three dots on it.
    This button is located near the top of the screen under your playlist name. Tapping it will reveal all your available actions.
  5. How.com.vn English: Step 5 Tap Share Playlist.
    • You can only share playlists that you yourself create. For example, built-in playlists such as "My Top Rated," "Recently Played," and "Purchased Music" are not shareable.
    • As of February of 2017, a bug prevents some users from seeing the Share Playlist button. Apple is working on a solution to the issue.[2]
  6. How.com.vn English: Step 6 Tap on a sharing method.
    You can choose to share your playlist via iMessage, Mail, Facebook, AirDrop, and Twitter.
  7. How.com.vn English: Step 7 Choose a recipient.
  8. How.com.vn English: Step 8 Send your playlist.
    Your recipient will be sent a link where they can access your playlist.

    On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, tap the more button, then tap Share. On your Mac or PC, click the more button, then Share Playlist. On your Android device, tap the more button, then Share Playlist to see your sharing options.
