This How.com.vn teaches you how to set a custom New Tab page in Google Chrome for Windows and Mac computers. Setting a New Tab page is not a built-in feature for Google Chrome so you'll need to use a Chrome extension instead.
Steps
Open Google Chrome. Google Chrome is the app with a circular icon that resembles a multi-colored beach ball.
Open a new tab. To open a new tab in Google Chrome, click the small tab button to the right of your right-most open tab at the top of the browser window. By default, when you open a new tab in Google Chrome, it displays a list of the websites you visit most often. You can also use the keyboard shortcuts to open a new tab by pressing:- On Windows: Ctrl+T.
- On Mac: ⌘ Command+T.
Click Apps. The "Apps" button is to the left in the bookmarks bar at the top of the page, below the address bar. It's next to an icon with nine colored dots.
Click Web Store. It's the app that has an icon that resembles the Google Chrome logo in a package. It's also in the lower-right corner of the "Apps" page.
Type New Tab Redirect in the search bar and press ↵ Enter. The search bar is at the top of the sidebar on the left.
Click + Add To Chrome next to "New Tab Redirect". The "New Tab Redirect" extension has an image of a tab with yellow flair in the upper-right corner.- Click here to open the extension page in your Chrome browser.
Click Add extension. It's the first option in the pop-up window. This opens the extension in a new browser window.- At anytime, you can click to open the "New Tab Redirect" extension by click the white tab icon in your extensions next to the address bar in Google Chrome, and then clicking "Options". It's hard to see if you are using the default color scheme.
Click Set Options. It's the first link at the top of the Welcome page of the extension.
Type a URL in the bar at the top. The URL is the address you type in the address bar to go to a website. Type it in the bar under "Redirect URL". For example, "www.wikihow.com".
Click Save. It's next to the bar at the top of the "Redirect URL" bar. Whenever you open a new tab in Google Chrome, it will redirect you to the website you typed in the bar.- To turn off or remove the "New Tab Redirect" extension, click the extension next to the address bar at the top fo the screen. Click "Remove from Chrome" to delete the extension. To turn it off, click "Manage Extensions" and then click the switch icon next to "New Tab Redirect".
