This How.com.vn teaches you how to set up your iPhone or iPad to encrypt outgoing email in the Gmail app. You’ll need to have the recipient’s S/MIME certificate or public key installed for encryption to work.
Steps
- Scroll down and tap Accounts & Passwords.
- Tap Gmail. It’s under the “ACCOUNTS” heading.
- Tap your account. It’s under the “GMAIL” header at the top of the screen.
- Tap Advanced. It’s at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Sign. It’s below the switch you just turned on.
- Tap the back button until you’ve returned to the Advanced menu.
- Tap Encrypt by Default. It’s below the “S/MIME” header.
- Slide the “Encrypt by Default” switch to On. Now that you’ve made these changes, you can use the Gmail app to send encrypted messages from your iPhone or iPad.
- If your name appears more than once under the “CERTIFICATES” header, select the certificate with the most distant expiration date.
