Attaching to a Message
Open Skype. It’s the blue and white icon with an “S.” You’ll usually find it on the home screen or in the app drawer.- As of August 2017, it’s no longer possible to send other types of files using the Android Skype app.[1] You must select either a photo or a video.
Tap the address book icon. It’s at the top-right corner of the screen.
Tap the contact to whom you want to send a file. This opens a conversation with that contact.
Tap the gallery icon. It’s the outline of a landscape photo at the bottom of the screen. This opens your phone or tablet’s gallery.
Tap the photo or video you want to send. If you don’t see it on the screen, tap the Albums icon (a sheet of paper and a photo) at the bottom-right corner of the screen, then select the album where it’s stored.
Tap the right-pointing arrow. It’s at the top of the screen. This attaches the photo or video to the message.
Tap the send button. It’s the circle with a paper airplane inside. The file will now be delivered to the selected contact.Advertisement

Sending from your Photo Gallery
Open your phone or tablet’s photo gallery app. This is usually called Photos, My Photos, or Gallery.- As of August 2017, it’s no longer possible to send other types of files using the Android Skype app.[2] You must select either a photo or a video.
- This steps may vary depending on your phone or tablet.
Browse to the photo or video you want to share. If it’s not in the main folder, tap the name of the folder that contains the file.- Don’t tap the photo or video to open it, just scroll until you can see its thumbnail on the screen.
Tap and hold the thumbnail of the photo or video. Additional icons will appear at the top or bottom of the screen.- If this doesn't happen, try tapping the menu button (usually three vertical dots at the top-right corner of the screen) to bring up additional options.
Tapor Share. This opens a list of apps on your phone or tablet.
Tap Skype. It has a blue and white icon with a white “S” inside. This opens the Skype app to the “Share” screen.
Select a contact. This is the person you want to receive the file. Once selected, their name will appear beneath a circle at the top of the screen.- You can sent to multiple recipients by tapping additional names.
Tap the paper airplane icon to send. It’s at the top-right corner of the screen. The photo or video will be delivered to the selected contact(s).Advertisement
