How to Save Google Search Results in Chrome

This How.com.vn teaches you how to save or bookmark a search results page in Google Chrome. You can download an HTML file that contains the data of a specific search onto your computer, or you can create a bookmark for the search on both computers and mobile platforms.

Saving a Search as an HTML File

Open
Google Chrome. Its app icon resembles a red, green, yellow, and blue sphere.
- You cannot save a file version of a Chrome search results page from within the Chrome mobile app.

Click the address bar. It's the text bar at the top of the Chrome window.
- If there's any text in the address bar, remove it before proceeding.
Type in the word or phrase that you want to use for your search, then press ↵ Enter.
Once the results for your search have completely loaded, you can proceed.

Make sure that you're on the page that you want to save. This method only allows you to save one page of results, so move to a different page if need be.
- You can move to the next page of results by scrolling down to the bottom of the page and then clicking one of the numbers (e.g., 2 for the second page).

Right-click a blank space on the page. Doing so will prompt a small drop-down menu to appear.
- You can also press Ctrl+S (Windows) or ⌘ Command+S (Mac) if you can't right-click the page. If you do this, skip the next step.

Click Save as.... It's in the drop-down menu. Doing so will open the Save As window in File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (Mac).
- On a Mac, you'll click Save Page As… in the drop-down menu.

Save the search as a file. Enter a file name, select a save location (e.g., the Desktop folder), and click Save in the bottom-right corner of the window.
- You'll be able to re-open the search in Chrome by double-clicking the saved file, though you may have to select Chrome as the program with which to open the file.

Bookmarking a Search on Desktop

Click the "Bookmark this page"
icon. It's on the far-right side of the address bar. Doing so will prompt a drop-down menu.
- If you don't have the "Bookmark this page" icon, press Ctrl+D (Windows) or ⌘ Command+D (Mac) instead.

Enter a name for your bookmark. Type in whatever you want to name your bookmark (e.g., Search Results for "Dogs").
- You can also determine where the bookmark is saved by clicking the "Folder" drop-down box and then selecting the folder in which you want to save the bookmark.
It's at the bottom of the drop-down menu. Doing so will add the search results page to your collection of Chrome bookmarks.

Access your saved search. To do so:
- Click ⋮ in the top-right corner of the Chrome window.
- Select Bookmarks in the resulting drop-down menu.
- Click your search result bookmark's folder (if necessary).
- Click your saved search results.

Bookmarking a Search on Mobile

Tap the Chrome app icon, which resembles a red, yellow, green, and blue sphere.

Tap the address bar. It's at the top of the screen. Doing so should bring up your on-screen keyboard.
- If there's any text in the address bar, remove it before proceeding.

Enter your search query. Type in the word or phrase that you want to use for your search, then tap Go in the keyboard.
- On an Android, you may tap Enter or Return (or an icon) in the keyboard instead.

Tap ⋮. It's in the top-right corner of the screen. Tapping it prompts a drop-down menu.
- Skip this step on Android.

Tap the "Bookmark"
icon. It's at the top of the drop-down menu.
- On Android, this icon is on the far-right side of the address bar.
Immediately after saving your bookmark, tap EDIT in the bottom-right corner of the screen, then enter a new name in the "Name" text field and/or select a new save folder by tapping the "Folder" box and selecting a different folder.

Access your saved search. To do so:
- Tap ⋮ in the top-right corner of the screen.
- Tap Bookmarks in the drop-down menu.
- Tap your search results bookmark's folder (if necessary).
- Tap your search results bookmark.
