Steps
Open your iPhone or iPad's Notification Center.- If your iPhone or iPad is locked, swipe right on your lock screen.
- If it's unlocked, swipe down from the top of any of your Home screens.
- If you're using iPhone X, swipe down from the top-left side of your screen.
Hard-press on a notification to respond with 3D Touch. Depending on the notification, a box will pop up with various options.- If it's a message notification, it will open a chat box where you can reply right from your lock screen.

Swipe left on a notification. This will show your options on the right-hand side.- Depending on the app, your options may vary.
- You will usually have a View option, which will expand the notification details in a larger pop-up, and a Clear option, which will delete the notification.
