   Open the X platform app. The app icon is black with a white X on it.

   Tap your profile icon. In the top left corner of the app, you will see a circular icon of your profile picture. Tap on this to reveal a menu.

   Select X/Twitter Ads. Near the bottom of the menu, you will see an X/Twitter Ads option with an icon of an arrow in a box. Selecting this will pull up options for creating or viewing X ad campaigns.

   • If you do not see this option, you will have to use a browser app, like Google Chrome, to proceed. Visit www.twitter.com and sign in with your account. "X/Twitter Ads" will show up in the browser if it does not show up in the X app.

   Tap Go to Promote Mode. This will be the blue button beneath the words “Grow your audience with Promote Mode.”

   Select Get started. You will now be at a page that gives you further details on Promote Mode. You can click “Learn mode” at the bottom of the screen if desired. Otherwise, tap the blue “Get started” button.

   Select your country and time zone. At the moment, there are only three countries available for Promote Mode: United States, United Kingdom, and Japan. Tap on your country to select it. To select your time zone, tap the drop-down that displays “Los Angeles Time” by default. Tap on the location that matches your time zone. After this is complete, tap “Next” in the top right corner.

   Choose your targeting. You can promote your account by targeting interests or locations. If you select interests, your tweets will be targeted at people who enjoy specific categories of your choosing. If you choose locations, your tweets will target audiences in the areas of your choice. Once you are finished choosing, tap “Next” in the top right corner.

   Refine your audience. You will now be able to choose up to five interests or locations to focus on. If you chose to go with interests, you will see a list to select from. If you chose to go with locations, you can tap on a search bar and enter your preferred cities. Once you are finished, select “Next” in the top right corner.

   Review your campaign and click Proceed. You will now be asked to review your selected promotion campaign. If everything looks good, click “Proceed” in the top right corner. If not, click the “Edit” button next to the category you want to update.

    Enter your credit card information. Since this is a paid promotion, you will have to enter your credit card details. Make sure all of the fields are filled out correctly before moving on.

    Wait for approval from X. At this point, X will review your account to ensure you aren’t promoting anything against their terms of service. Once your account is approved, all of your tweets will be promoted and your following should start to grow.

   Tap Go to Quick Promote. This will be the second option on the page, beneath the words “Want to promote a single Tweet?” Tap on the blue button to proceed.

   Select a tweet to promote. You will now see a list of all of your tweets in chronological order. You may have to scroll down to find the tweet if it isn’t as recent. Once you find a good tweet, tap on it.

   Select Get started. You will now see the number of impressions and total engagements your selected tweet has received. Beneath that, you will see a large blue button that says, “Get started.”

   Enter your credit card information. Since this is a paid promotion, you will now be asked to enter your credit card information. Once you have entered everything correctly, click the blue “Next” button at the bottom of the page.

   Select your targeted location. Beneath “Targeting,” there is an option to select where you want to promote your tweet. Your country is selected by default but tapping on the location lets you narrow the location to your state or city.

   Choose your budget. Underneath “Budget,” you’ll see a range to choose from. The default selection is $500, but you can go as low as $50 or as high as $5,000. Press down on the blue dot and drag it until you are happy with the price.

   • Note that the number of estimated impressions and engagements changes with the price. The more you spend, the more impressions and engagements you are likely to get.

    Select Confirm spend of $XX. Once you are happy with how everything looks, tap the green button at the bottom of the screen to start promoting your tweet. X will automatically start promoting your tweet and will only stop once it reaches your desired spend.
