    • Click Only Active Household to disable aging except for the household you're currently playing.
  4. Step 4 Uncheck "Auto Age (Unplayed Sims)" to prevent other Sims from aging.
If you don't want townies and unplayed households to grow older, then just uncheck this box and they should no longer age as well.

      Tips

      • In Sims 3, Sims who are away from their home world (e.g., Sims who are traveling or at university) will not age until they return home.
      • Young Adult Sims in The Sims 2 don't age by default, since the Young Adult stage is limited to university students. Young Adults will age up to Adults when they leave college.
      • Some alternate life states, such as zombies and vampires, don't age in The Sims 2. This does not apply to PlantSims, however. (Sims 3 and later does away with the lack of aging, and instead gives these life forms a much longer time to live.)
