This How.com.vn teaches you how to play any video on YouTube, and listen to it on your Sonos speakers, using AirPlay on an iPhone or iPad. All of Sonos Beam, Amp, One, Playbase, and Play:5 (second gen) models are AirPlay-compatible for streaming music from your mobile device.[1] If you have a different Sonos model with no AirPlay compatibility, you can use an Aux cable to connect your iPhone or iPad to your speakers with a wired connection.
Steps
Swipe up from the bottom of your iPhone's screen. This will open Control Center.- If you're using iPhone X or later, or iPad with iOS 12 or later, swipe down from the upper-right corner.
Press and hold the audio card in Control Center. This is the music section that's usually in the upper-right corner of Control Center. It will expand your audio options.
Tap the audio icon on the top-right. This button looks like white circles and an upward arrowhead in the upper-right corner of the audio options window. It will open a list of all the available AirPlay speakers around you.- If your AirPlay-compatible speakers are turned on, they will appear on the speaker list here.
- If your speakers don't work with AirPlay, your only option to play YouTube is connecting your iPhone to your speakers with an Aux cable.
Select your Sonos speakers on the list. Just tap the name of your speakers to select them.- A white checkmark will show up next to the selected output device on the list.
Open YouTube on your iPhone or iPad. The YouTube icon looks like a white Play button in a red rectangle. You can find it on your home screen, or in an app folder.
