How to Permanently Switch Google Chrome to English in Korea

This article will explain in less than 20 steps how you can make Google Chrome use the English version of Google, rather than the Korean version. Follow the pictures.

Steps

  1. Step 1 Open Chrome, click the wrench, and hit "Settings".
  2. Step 2 Click "History" on the left, and "Clear browsing data..."

  3. Step 3 Check all boxes, click the drop-down menu, select "from the beginning of time..."
    , and then hit "Clear browsing data".
  4. Step 4 Select the "Open specific page" bubble, then click "Set pages".

  6. Step 6 |Now hit "Manage search engines..."
  7. How.com.vn English: Step 7 |Type this into the three boxes, be sure to hit ENTER when you are finished.
    Click "OK". Type the following into the boxes: Google English, google.com/?hl=en, and https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=%s&{google:RLZ}{google:acceptedSuggestion}{google:originalQueryForSuggestion}{google:searchFieldtrialParameter}sourceid=chrome&ie={inputEncoding}&?hl=en (Copy and paste)
  8. Step 8 Move the mouse over the entry you made, and click "Make default".
    Click "OK".
  9. Step 9 Now, type in "www.google.com" in the address bar.
    Press ENTER on your keyboard.
  10. Step 10 Now, simply click the "Google.com in English" link in the lower right-hand corner.

      Tips

      • There isn't really a solid way to have Chrome start a custom home page without switching to Korean, unless you open the ?hl=en website as a separate tab.
      • After logging into Chrome initially, the website may switch back to Korean. Just close Chrome and re-open it again.
