Paying for a New Order

   Open DoorDash on your Android. The app is usually on the home screen or in the app drawer. Look for the white icon containing a curved red line.

   Find a restaurant. Scroll down to view the recommended options, or browse by cuisine by tapping one of the icons at the top of the screen.

   • You can also search for a restaurant by name, cuisine, or dish. Tap the magnifying glass at the top-right corner of the screen, type a name or keyword, then select a restaurant from the results.

   Select items for your order. Menu items are organized into categories, such as ″Appetizers″ and ″Desserts.″ Tap an item in a category to view its details, then tap Add to Cart to order it.

   • Some items allow you to choose certain options, such as ″Extra cheese″ or ″Make it vegan.″ Customize your item before adding it to your cart.
   • To add more than one of an item to the cart, tap the + under ″Quantity″ until the amount is correct.

   View your cart. When you're ready to check out, tap the red-and-white shopping cart icon bottom of the screen to open the cart.

   Edit the cart (optional). To make final customizations to each item, tap the item, then edit it as you see fit.

   • To remove items from the cart, tap EDIT at the top-right corner of the screen, check the boxes next to items you don't want, and then DELETE.
   • If you have a promotional code, tap Promo Code to apply it to your order.

   Tap Checkout. It's at the bottom of the screen.

   Tap Payment. A list of payment options connected to your account will appear.

   Select a payment method. If you have more than one method listed, tap the one you want to use to pay for this order. If you don't see the card you want to use, here's how to add a new one:

   • Tap ADD at the top-right corner of the screen.
   • Enter the card's details as shown in the app.
   • Tap Add Card.
   • If the new card is not highlighted in red, tap it to select it.

   Tap the back button to return to the cart. Your payment method should now be listed under the ″Payment″ header.

    Set your tip amount. DoorDash selects a tip option by default (the number highlighted in red). If you want to change it, tap a different option, or select Other to enter a custom amount. Your total will be updated to reflect the new tip amount.

    Review the order and tap Place Order. It's at the bottom of the screen. Your selected payment method will be billed for the total amount of the order.

   Tap Payment Cards. It's the second option. A list of your existing payment methods will appear.

   • The default payment method is highlighted in red.

   Enter the details from your credit or debit card. Don't forget to enter the ″CVV″ number, which is the 3-digit code that's usually on the card's back side near your signature.

   • If you're in a well-lit room, you can tap the camera icon next to ″Credit Card Number″ to take a photo of your card so you don't have to type the number.

   Tap Add Card. It's at the bottom of the screen. This adds the new card to your list of payment methods. The new card is also highlighted in red, which means it's your new default payment method.

   Place an order. When you place your next DoorDash order, the new card will be selected by default.

   • You can always switch to a card during the checkout process. See this method to learn how.
   • To remove an old card you no longer want to use, return to the list of payment methods, then swipe left on the card's name.

  It was used on DoorDash, so it will be billed only there. The interaction with the restaurant is through DoorDash.

  Yes, you pay for the order before receiving the delivery, but upon receipt of the food, you can lodge a complaint if there is a problem, and DoorDash customer service is usually very responsive.
