How to Open an RVT File on Android

This How.com.vn teaches you how to open and view the contents of a RVT file, using Android. RVT is the native file format for Autodesk's Revit BIM (Building Information Modeling) program, and usually contains architectural models. You can open it in in your web browser or use Autodesk's A360 app.

Using a Web Browser

Open Chrome on your Android. Find and tap the
icon on your Apps menu to open your internet browser.
- Alternatively, you can use a different browser such as Firefox or Opera.
Go to https://viewer.autodesk.com in your browser. Type this URL into the address bar, and press ↵ Enter or ⏎ Return on your keyboard.
This is a black button in the middle of the page. It will open the sign-in form in a new pop-up.

Sign in to your Autodesk account. Enter your email, tap NEXT, enter your account password, and tap SIGN IN.
- If you don't have an Autodesk account, tap the blue CREATE ACCOUNT link at the bottom of the pop-up, and sign up with your email address.
- You can create an Autodesk account for free. There is no required payment to create an account or view files.
This button is next to the "Design Views" heading near the top-right corner. It will open a list of all the file sources you can upload from.

Tap Select File. This option looks like a gray document sheet at the top of the Upload list. It will allow you to select and upload a file from your local storage.
- Alternatively, you can select a different option here, and upload a file from your cloud storage. You can upload from Dropbox, Box, Google Drive, and Microsoft One Drive.
- If you're prompted to select a source again, tap Documents in the pop-up window.
Find and tap the RVT file in your files to open it in Autodesk Viewer. This will upload the selected RVT file, and view its contents in your internet browser.

Using an App

Download and install the A360 app from the Play Store. You can search the "A360" app on the Play Store, and tap the green INSTALL button next to the app.
- You can reach the app directly at https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.autodesk.a360.
- This is the free, official Autodesk app. You can download and install it free of charge.

The A360 icon looks like a blue knot in a white background. You can find it on your Apps menu.
This is a blue button at the bottom of the page. This will open the sign-in form on a new page.

Sign in to your Autodesk account. You can use your Autodesk account to sign in to the A360 app. To log in:
- Enter your email address.
- Tap NEXT.
- Enter your account password.
- Tap SIGN IN.
- If you're prompted, tap GET STARTED.
- If you don't have an Autodesk account, tap the blue CREATE ACCOUNT link below the NEXT button to sign up.

Verify your phone number in the app. You can tap the SMS link below the NEXT button, or download an authenticator app on your phone and verify with the app.
- Tap the blue SMS link below the NEXT button at the bottom.
- Enter your phone number.
- Tap NEXT.
- Enter the verification code from the automated SMS message.
- Tap ENTER CODE.
- Tap CONTINUE.

Tap the + button. This is a blue-and-white button in the lower-right corner of your screen. This button will allow you to add a new file, and view it in the app.
- Tap Documents if you're prompted to select a file source or location.

Find and select your RVT in your files. Use the app's file navigator to find the RVT file, and tap on the name of the RVT file you want to open in your files to open it in Autodesk Viewer.
- This will upload and open the selected RVT file in the A360 app.
