   Enter your router or modem's IP into your web browser. You can use any web browser on your PC or Xbox One. This takes you to the login page for your router or modem. Your router's IP address is different from one make and model to the next. Consult the user's manual for your router or modem, or manufacturer's web page for more information about how to log in to your router.

   • Common router IP addresses include 192.168.0.1 , 192.168.1.1 or 10.0.0.1
   • You can also find your router's IP address in your network settings on your PC or Mac

   Enter your router or modem's login information. Your router or modem has a default username and password you can use to log in. If you are not sure what the default username and password is for your router or modem, consult the user's manual, or manufacturer's web page.

   • Admin is a common default username and/or password on many modems and routers. Password is also a common password.
   • You might want to consider changing your default password on your router to help improve your network security.

   Navigate to the UPnP menu. Again, this is different from one router or modem make and model to another. Look for it under "Advanced Settings", "Tools", "Misc" or "Network Settings".

   • If UPnP is not available on your router or modem, use port forwarding instead.

Using Port Forwarding

   Select Settings. Highlight the Settings panel and press "A" on the controller to open the Settings app.

   Select the Network tab. Select the Network tab on the left and press "A" to open the Network menu.

   Select Advanced settings. It's in the Network menu. This displays in network information about your Xbox One that you will need to enable port forwarding.

   Write down the IP address. This is the independent IP address assigned to your console by your modem or router. It's listed in the Advanced settings tile.

   Write down the MAC address. This is a unique number built into your XBox One to identify it on your network. It's listed in the Advanced settings menu.

   Write down the Subnet address. You'll need the subnet address later on. You can get this from the Advanced settings screen on your XBox One, or using your computer.

You can use the same IP address that was given to your Xbox automatically, or you can change the IP address by typing a different number for the last number group (keep the first three the same). Select "Enter" on the on-screen keyboard when you are done.

    • Make sure the IP address you assign your Xbox One is not used by any other devices.
