This How.com.vn teaches you how to make an Instagram Story public on Android. Instagram defaults new accounts to public privacy, which means anyone can view anything including your Stories. In order for everyone to see your Story, you have to make sure your Instagram account is public. However, you can hide your Story from certain people, even if your account is public. You can easily access this within the account settings of your Instagram account.
Steps
Making Your Profile Public
- Open Instagram. The app icon is a camera inside a square that’s a gradient from yellow to purple. You can find this on your home screen, in the app drawer, or by searching.
- If your Instagram profile is already public, which is the default setting, your stories are already public.
- Tap ☰. A menu will slide out.
- Tap the settings icon. You’ll find this at the bottom of the menu.
- Tap Privacy and Security.
- Tap Account Privacy.
- Slide the "Private Account" switch off . If the switch was already off, your account is public and anyone can see your posts and Stories.[1]
- To see who has viewed your story, open the story and swipe up from the bottom of the screen.

- To add someone to the list, tap one of the suggested contacts or search by name.
- Tap Close Friends to manage the Close Friends list. This optional setting allows you to add your best friends to a list you can share to when posting your most private stories. This list will only be used when you select the Close Friends option while posting a new story. To manage the list:
