How to Make a Collaborative Playlist on Spotify on Android

This How.com.vn shows you how to create a collaborative playlist in Spotify. This feature can only be accessed in the mobile app with a paid Spotify Premium account, though playlists you create can be made collaborative even with a Spotify Free account.

Making an Existing Playlist Collaborative

  1. How.com.vn English: Step 1 Open the Spotify app.
    This has a green icon with three black lines in it.

    This has an icon with three lines in it.
  3. How.com.vn English: Step 3 Tap Playlists.
  4. How.com.vn English: Step 4 Select the playlist you want to make collaborative.
  5. How.com.vn English: Step 5 Tap the menu button ⁝.
    This is in the top-right corner and pulls up more options for that playlist.

    Your playlist will now be able to be modified by friends you share it with.

    To share your playlist:
    • Tap the three-dotted icon in the top right
    • Select Share from the menu that appears
    • Share your playlist via a messaging app, social media, or by copying the link and sending it to friends.

Creating a New Collaborative Playlist

  1. How.com.vn English: Step 1 Open the Spotify app.
    This has a green icon with three black lines in it that can be accessed from the apps drawer.
  2. How.com.vn English: Step 2 Tap the Your Library tab.
    This is where you can find a list of playlists saved to your account.
  3. How.com.vn English: Step 3 Select Create playlist.
    This is located under the Playlists tab on the Library page and has a white plus sign next to it.
  4. How.com.vn English: Step 4 Title your playlist.
    Once you’re done, tap Create to set up the playlist.
  5. How.com.vn English: Step 5 Tap the menu button ⁝.
    You should see this button on the playlist’s menu page. This will pull up more options for that playlist in a drop-down menu.
  6. How.com.vn English: Step 6 Select Make Collaborative.
    This will mark your playlist as collaborative, so that users added to the list of contributors can add songs to the playlist.
  7. How.com.vn English: Step 7 Share your playlist with friends.
    To share your playlist:
    • Tap the three-dotted icon in the top right
    • Select Share from the menu that appears
    • Share your playlist via a messaging app, social media, or by copying the link and sending it to friends.
