Creating a Playlist

   Open the YouTube Music app. The YouTube Music app has an icon with a red circle and a white triangle inside a smaller white circle. You can open YouTube Music by tapping the icon on your homescreen or in your apps drawer.

   Search for music. You can search for music by tapping the magnifying glass in the upper-right corner of YouTube Music.

   • You can also look for recommendations on the Home tab. It's the icon that resembles a house in the lower-left corner in the YouTube Music app.
   • You can also look for music in your Library by tapping the icon that resembles a music note on a stack of papers in the lower-right corner of the YouTube Music app. Read "How To Use YouTube Music on Android" to learn more about how to search for music on YouTube Music.

   Tap ⋮ across from a song. Songs are listed under artists, albums, and other playlists. When you see a song you want to add to a playlist, tap the button with three vertical dots to the right of the song. This displays a pop-up menu with a list of options for that song.

   Tap Add to playlist. It's one of the options in the pop-up menu. It's next to an icon that resembles three lines with a plus (+) sign. This displays a list of your playlists.

   Tap Create new playlist. It's at the bottom of your list of playlists. It's next to a plus (+) sign. This creates a new playlist.

   Type a name for the playlist. Tap the line below "Title" and then type a name for the playlist. You could name it something like "Workout Music", "Relaxation", "Heavy Metal" or anything you want.

   Select a privacy setting. Tap the line below "Privacy" to display a drop-down menu with privacy options for your playlist. Then tap the privacy option you want. There are three privacy options to chose from. The three options are as follows:

   • Public: This options allows anyone to search and view your playlist.
   • Unlisted: This option allows you to share your playlist with friends using a link, but it does not allow anyone to search and view your playlist.
   • Private: This option only allows you to view the playlist

   Tap Create. It's in the lower-right corner of the "Create new playlist" box. This creates your playlist.

   Tap the playlist you want to add the song to. This adds the song to your playlist. You can create multiple playlists, and add as many songs to any of your playlists as you want.

   • You can also add an existing playlist to your library. If you find a playlist you like anywhere in the YouTube Music app, tap the playlist to view all the songs in the playlist. Tap the plus (+) button below the playlist title at the top of the playlist. The plus icon turns into a checkmark and adds the playlist to your library.

Viewing and Playing a Playlist

   Tap the Library tab. It's the icon that resembles a music note on top of a stack of papers. It's in the lower-right corner of the YouTube Music app. This displays your music library.

   Tap Playlists. It's the second option in the Library tab. This displays a list of all your playlist.

   Tap the playlist you want to listen to. This is where you go to listen to playlists that you create. Tap a playlist when you have enough songs added to it to display all the songs in the playlist.

   Tap Play or Shuffle. Tapping Play plays all the songs in your playlist in the order they were added. Tapping Shuffle plays all the songs in your playlist in random order.

   • Tap Add a song at the bottom of the playlist to search for an add more music to the playlist.

  Unfortunately, there is no way to make playlists offline on the YouTube Music app, as the app wouldn't be able to get or save information without a network connection.
