Prom tickets usually go on sale a month or two before the date. You might as well get your ticket sooner rather than later so it'll be one less thing to worry about. If you're bringing a date, make sure you get a ticket for your date, too.

Figure out what you want to do several weeks ahead of time so you won't have to worry about it as the day approaches. Talk with your date and your friends to decide the best course of action.

Make dinner reservations. It's customary to go out to a nice dinner before prom with your group of friends. If you don't have a date, go anyway! You really don't need a date to have fun and you won't be the only solo one there. When they play slow dances, find someone else who is dateless and ask them to dance, even if just as friends. Don't let anything ruin this night, you will remember it forever.

If you are going with a lot of people, a party bus is probably a better answer than a limo because buses can hold 3 times as many people as a limo depending on the size.

Don't worry too much about prom! It's a big party that you can go to to have some fun with your friends or a date and it's an excuse to dress nice. Don't stress too much about the details, just do what makes you happy and comfortable. Remember, it doesn't have to be like the movies!
Avoid wearing a really short dress. It can be uncomfortable to dance in and you'll likely be pulling it down all night or worried about accidentally flashing people. A longer dress will be a lot more comfortable.
