The first thing you want to think about is “Are my shoes visible?” Because if they're not visible, I say go for comfort all the way. You are going to be on your feet, with photos, with ceremony, cocktail hour, dancing—your feet are going to be so tired, go for comfort first. That being said, if your shoes are visible, then plan on having two pairs: a really beautiful pair that you want to show off that goes with your outfit, that matches your style, your theme, your personality, and then always have a backup pair that's comfortable that's going to allow you to tear up the dance floor. The shoe is also a really special moment to have something borrowed, something blue, or something really unique to you. Don't feel stuck in having to spend a million dollars on a shoe because it's your wedding day and you have to have the best shoe that's out there. Pick the shoe that makes you light up, that makes you smile, and that makes you feel fabulous.
