How to Dye Your Hair with Eyeshadow

Eyeshadow can be used for dyeing hair temporarily. The good thing about this hair coloring method is that it washes out, and you can use it to see whether you'd like your hair to be a different color more permanently. Wash your hair as usual, use shampoo and conditioner.
Place an old towel around your neck and wear old clothes.

Making the powdered eyeshadow dye

Cut it up with a butter knife, then crush it with the rounded end of the knife.
Do this gradually, so that you keep control over the color.

Probably not, my hair is light brown and it doesn't work when I do this or similar things. Maybe if you bleach it, but if you go through the trouble of bleaching it, you might as well dye it.

Cream eyeshadow can be applied direct to hair without making a liquid. It will remain in the hair for around the same time the label suggests it will remain on your skin. Use the same precautions for keeping it off clothing, etc.

It is possible that this dyeing method can be an expensive way to add color unless you're using budget or old eyeshadow. If you have old eyeshadow you're just going to toss though, this can be a good use for its last hurrah.

Do not get eyeshadow or liquid eyeshadow dye in your eyes. Protect them at all times. If you do have a mishap, rinse out with water and see your doctor if there is any pain, eyesight problems or anything else problematic.
