Things You Should Know

Right-click the tab and select Duplicate tab. Although there isn't a keyboard shortcut for duplicating tabs in these browsers, you can use this quick trick to copy the same website to a new browser tab.
- There is no way to duplicate a tab in the mobile versions of Chrome and Firefox.
- If you press Alt + D, the browser highlights the text in your address bar. Then, you can press Alt + Enter to open the same URL in a new tab. However, this is a little different than duplicating a tab, as the new tab won't have the same page history or actions you've done in the previous tab (like scrolling to a specific spot or filling in an answer box).
- There are also extensions that you can get for Chrome and Firefox that will allow you to specify a keyboard shortcut to duplicate tabs. Duplicate Tab Shortcut is available for Chrome, and Duplicate Tab Shortcut is for Firefox.

Create a keyboard shortcut on a Mac. On a Mac desktop or MacBook, you can create a keyboard shortcut that duplicates a tab for you. Here's how:

iPhone and iPad. Drag your tab icon to +. You'll need to be on the Tabs page to do this, which means that when you open Safari, tap the Tabs icon in the lower right corner of your screen (it looks like two overlapping rectangles).
