God cares less about how you're dressed than he cares about you being in church. If all you have is jeans and a T-shirt, just wear that. Most likely, no one will say anything to you about your clothes.
Make sure you know the dress code and try to follow it in your own way. If you normally wear darker clothes with a goth style, you could still wear a dark blouse and a darker pair of jeans.
For kids, a good outfit would be a dress or a nice shirt and shorts. Just make sure you don't wear tennis shoes.
