How to Drag and Drop on iPhone or iPad

This How.com.vn teaches you how to select and drag items like apps, text, and files around your iPhone's or iPad's screen. You must have updated your iPhone or iPad to iOS 11 to use this feature.

Method 1
Method 1 of 3:

Dragging Apps

  1. How.com.vn English: Step 1 Go to an app that you want to move.
  2. How.com.vn English: Step 2 Tap and hold an app.
After about a second, all of the apps on the screen will begin shaking, and the app beneath your finger will become draggable.
  3. How.com.vn English: Step 3 Drag the app around the screen.
You can drag the app anywhere on the current screen, or you can move the app to the right-most side of the screen to move the app to another page.
    • If you're on a page other than the Home Screen, you can also drag your app to the left side of the screen to move it to a page left of your current one.
  4. How.com.vn English: Step 4 Select another app to drag.
While still holding the first app, tap another app with a different finger. This will add the second app to the drag list. You should now be able to drag both apps with the same finger.
    • You can do this with as many apps as you like.
  5. How.com.vn English: Step 5 Drop the apps.
Release your finger from the screen to "drop" the apps in their current location. They will be placed from right to left in the order in which you selected them.
    • For example: if you selected Gmail, Google Drive, and Twitter in that order, dropping them would result in Gmail on the far-right, Google Drive to its left, and Twitter left of that.
